6 min Owner talks about soccer project camp at Cite Soliel for impoverished children, "We have a tournament right now, 80 teams, 1400 players all from around here Cite Soliel. Pretty soon we'll be in England." He laughs. Norman: Is this a way out for many of the children if they make it? "That's the idea, what you have to understand about Cite Soliel is that every premier team here in Haiti has at least five or six players from Cite Soliel. I hate to say it but it has a correlation with the dire straits situation which they live in and football and soccer and sports in general is a way out, but they are grabbed for cheap now, because they don't belong to any structure anybody can grab them." "I'm not at the level at managing yet, I'm trying to get the infrastructure in place, making sure they are fed better, getting better trainers, and trying to to put them into a structure. The sponsorship is just my friends I grabbed by the throat and tell them listen give some money to the people." "We always need cleats, soccer balls and shin guards and stuff like that, we need basically, clothes for the kids, some of the kids come as they are some almost barefoot, and we have to give them the cleats, the uniforms and feed them afterwards." "One of the main things is the meal, we always need food for the vitamins, it's important. The main reason their are so many kids here from Cite Soliel is because they know that once they play they get a guaranteed meal and if they get hurt they can go to the doctor and get medical assistance. It's very simple, there is no big miracle here, no big mystery. You see it right there. It's easy. I've tried to do my best" When Silvan came and I gave him a social program, I would love to have 1000, 2000 kids because that's the main drive to give the kids an opportunity but Silvan said you have a it's fine social program but you would help if you had an elite program also, out of the social program where you get a mass participation now you can pick the best and give them an opportunity to live here 24 hours a day. Once we get them to a level, it's like a tool becasue you train them to get to a certain level of skill that will be able to attract people to see them. There are some pretty good players. END.
