it’s hard to say I was surprised. I’m media savvy. I understand, particularly in an election cycle, what drives the profits of the big media corporations. I think that’s a problem. I think that Canadians for two to three weeks out of this election were deprived of the opportunity to have a real discussion about the issues that really mattered to them. I think that Canadians for two to three weeks out of this election were deprived of the opportunity to have a real discussion about the issues that really mattered to them. Not whether somebody might have smoked some marijuana in the past. I don’t think that most Canadians think that’s a disqualification from holding public office. In fact, many of our most successful leaders have admitted to past marijuana use. The fact of the matter is, I’m cognizant of how the game is played and so, in hindsight, I guess I shouldn’t have been as surprised as I was about the furor that this particular video caused.
