Interview with Martine Moore volunteer of Give them a hand foundation. I was 17 years old , my mom was working with the UN and I started with a youth group in Brazil , my mom met glen and we came here in 2002. We had a 45 foot container form Canada, we had to unloaded , organize it, and distribute. It took us a couple of days, and we had a group of children coming along with us to Oceanworld and we did go karting , and try to give them an experience different than living in poverty. There were computer and medical supplies , toys they pretty much stuff that people from here really needs. They went to Puerto Plata, Palo Amarillo, and Cabarette. Well my mom has friend working in an organization in Santo Domingo and they had and accident, their plane Crashed so, my mom decided to keep their legacy and help this people, so we saw Glen on television that he was working with “ Kids Explore” so we decided to contact him to start working together. We’ve been working in South America countries like Dominican Republic, Haiti, Jamaica . I feel like after 10 years I used to be really emotional, and I used to be depressed to see all the poverty and that I wasn’t helping at all just to be there a few days . But later on if you keep going, and keep trying being with the kids, you see the difference, now you can contact us through the web site. We keep receiving donations, we have public storage so we gather donations all the year and after a year we come here to give them the donations.
