Question: Why did you stop journalists from going into Jenin? The Red Cross said they were methodically stopped, searching ambulances, and no access even after the fighting had stopped? Cheif Medical Officer Major David" At the time of the closure I can tell you for sure it was time there was closure, there were fighters in the camp and explosives in the camp, there was a doctor who got injured dealing with the body. All over the camp there was alot of booby traps and there was armed people in the camp that basically we were at risk from going in there. Their clothes aren't always easy to identify, it's not always easy to have people in and fight at the same time. If you understand that and understand that this place was a fortress of terror. There was wires attached to gas balloons, there were bodies put as booby traps." Soldiers display photographs of booby trapped body on projector. Major David: "We have to be responsible for our soldiers, this causes injuries and casulties if there are people we can't identify and we have to take care of their lives. You have to understand that and second about the medical assistance, every Palestinian and anybody who needed help got help. We did not stop Red Cross in any event this is not true and your also saying we entered the hospital this is not true and has nothing to do with truth, and when you publish such a thing you just cause for more hatred." Second soldier: Yesterday the doctor came to the camp and was wounded by a bomb put there by terrorist in the camp, all this camp is booby trapped you were lucky to go there this camp is a terrorist camp, it is very dangerous,it was very dangerous and is still very dangerous." Press conference gets a little heated and politician calms down situation.
